The Garris Dental
Care Team

We know that our office is only as effective and as welcoming as the people who work in it, which is why we take pride in our friendly and well-trained team members! As a team, we are especially interested in making all our patients feel right at home! We put your needs first to achieve efficient and comprehensive treatment in a supportive and nurturing environment. We promise to speak candidly with you about possible treatments as well as any risks and associated costs of treatment, and how treatment can address your individual needs as a patient.

Dr. William Scott Garris

DMD

Dr. William Scott Garris graduated from the College of Charleston in 1994, before earning his doctorate from the Medical University of South Carolina College of Dental Medicine. He has been practicing dentistry since 1998. To stay up-to-date on all the latest advancements in the field of dentistry, Dr. Garris maintains memberships with the American Dental Association, South Carolina Dental Association and the Coastal District Dental Society.

When he isn’t working, Dr. Garris enjoys hunting, fishing, and sports. He is a member of St. George United Methodist Church, is active in many community activities and loves spending time with his wife, Niki, and their three children, Meg, Will and Camryn.

Dr. Jessie Suggs Robinson

DMD

Dr. Jessie Robinson was born and raised in Clemson, SC. She graduated from Clemson University (Go Tigers!) before earning her doctorate from the Medical University of South Carolina, College of Dental Medicine. She is a member of the American Dental Association, South Carolina Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, and Delta Sigma Delta Professional-Dental Fraternity.

When Dr. Robinson isn’t working, she enjoys exploring the Lowcountry with her family, reading, travel, exercise, and drawing calligraphy. Dr. Robinson is married with three children and a black Labrador retriever.

Dr. Shawn Thompson

DDS

Dr. Shawn Thompson is a 1996 graduate of Case Western Reserve University School of Dental Medicine.

Dr. Thompson is passionate about helping patients achieve optimal oral health and a confident smile. He values building lasting relationships with his patients, focusing on understanding their unique needs and tailoring treatment plans to achieve the best possible outcomes. His expertise spans a wide range of dental services, and he stays up to date on the latest advancements in dentistry to ensure the highest standard of care.

Known for his approachable demeanor and dedication to patient care, Dr. Thompson is currently welcoming new patients and looks forward to helping them on their journey to improved oral health.

Outside of the office, Dr. Thompson enjoys spending time with his 5 boys and his dog. He enjoys many outdoor activities sports, especially college football. He is committed to making a positive impact on the lives of his patients and the communities he serves.

Dr. Rory Thomas Furrows

DMD

Dr. Rory Furrows graduated from Brigham Young University-Idaho, before earning his doctorate from the Medical University of South Carolina College of Dental Medicine. He is a member of the American Dental Association, South Carolina Dental Association, and the Coastal District Dental Society.

Dr. Furrows participates with the Boy Scouts of America and enjoys fishing and woodworking. He loves spending time with his wife Kelly, and their four children, Melissa, Lila Belle, Jordan, and Daniel.

Dr. Sam Brunson

DMD

Dr. Sam Brunson was born and raised in Sumter, SC. He graduated from the University of South Carolina with a Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science then earned his doctorate from the Medical University of South Carolina. After graduation from dental school, Dr. Brunson completed an AEGD year (Advanced Education in General Dentistry) in the US Army and served as a general dentist in the Army before returning home to South Carolina. He is a member of the American Dental Association and the South Carolina Dental Association. In his free time, Dr. Brunson enjoys golf, fishing, relaxing at the lake or beach and following Gamecock sports. He also enjoys spending time with family and his black lab, Cooper.
